Photos Preserve FBA and KCBS BBQ History

By Kevin Sandridge

My buddy Jim Frazee is an interesting guy. He was a field hydrogeologist for 42 years working with well construction, geothermal designs and water supply evaluations. Today he judges for FBA (Florida Bar-B-Que Association) and KCBS #BBQ competitions in the southeastern states, with about 30 contests slated for this year in six states.

He’s on track to complete his KCBS master’s requirements this year or early 2015, and is a master judge with FBA. Slated as a Judge Of The YEar Finalist with FBA in 2013, Jim is a life member with both KCBS and FBA. No more dues reminders!

You will note on his Facebook page the archery picture.

Jim spent many years shooting as a competitor and hunter starting when he was 5, and spent many years teaching and officiating at national and international archery events

A little more background on Jim’s Passion for BBQ Photography

Jim was raised in a family with a cinematographer and still shooter as a father. He learned on a speed graphic press camera. Digital photography was a real experience for him after years of dark room work and large format images. In his words:

Taking images instantly is fun but still a little strange. I use a camera to communicate and increase my group of friends.

Please take a moment to connect with Jim on his Facebook Page. I don’t think he has a Google Plus presence yet, but I’ll see.

And be sure to tell him Kevin from The BBQ Beat sent you!!!!!
