Back and better than ever! Well, back anyway! I’ll let you kind folks decide over time whether the BBQ Smoker and Grilling news I provide here at the BBQ Beat is as good as or better than what I’ve provided in the past. Subject matter wise, I’m hoping to give greater focus to things my readers have specifically asked about including:
- Competition BBQ Tips
- BBQ Smoker Reviews
- Professional BBQ Team Spotlights and Tips
- Competition Level BBQ Recipes
- Judging Insights
- BBQ Grilling Tips and Techniques
Just to name a few.
OK. BBQ Smoker and Grilling News… From Where?
There are tons of great BBQ Smoker and Grilling related websites and blogs out there. So what makes The BBQ Beat different? In its base form, it’s not that different at all really. However, what I am trying to do here is deliver content my readers really want to see, are asking to learn more about, and will provide measurable value.
BBQ Smokers come in all shapes and sizes. Grills, too… and the tasty treats folks are producing on them today are just awesome. From traditional or competition BBQ Pork to more innovative BBQ and Grilling creations, there really is no limit to where we can take our discussions about the topic.
Great Video on the Maillard Reaction
I plan to showcase some of what’s being done on BBQ Smoker and grills out there by others, as well as provide added insights for readers like my good friend Larry Rudisill. Larry sent in a great email just yesterday about discerning between the browning process known as the Maillard reaction and charring. I love it, and he added some insights that we’ll take further here on the blog!
Of course we’ll cover BBQ competitions, and there are some cool things happening locally here like my buddy Chad Ward’s new store Whiskey Bent BBQ Supply in Lakeland, FL. Just a great resource for anyone who wants to learn how to cook like the Pros do!
Dorsey Odell Singing Truckdriver by Scott H. Biram
And it’s not all about the food! I’m always interested in discussing BBQ culture as well. In the case of Dorsey Odel (AKA Chris Whitcomb of Team Unknown BBQ), it doesn’t get anymore BBQ Country than he does in the above video of him singing Truckdriver by Scott H. Biram!
So as you can see, we are going to try and spread the BBQ love around a bit! I hope what you read here will prove valuable. As many of you know, I’m always eager to answer your questions, help you investigate BBQ or grilling interests, share or promote your BBQ or grilling related events, and the like.
So please DO leave comments and connect with me on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube – and let’s get the conversation rolling!
